West Lakes Restaurant

This project involved the transformation of an existing tenancy into a warm and inviting Middle Eastern restaurant and shisha lounge. With the tiled flooring, cabinetry, and structural columns already installed, the design approach focused on working creatively within the existing constraints.

To soften the space and improve acoustic performance, timber-look acoustic ceiling panels were introduced, concealing visual clutter while adding warmth and texture overhead. The existing structural columns became integral design features rather than limitations. One was incorporated into a cosy alcove seating area, creating a more intimate dining experience, while another was enhanced with decorative cladding to establish a strong visual focal point.

A carefully curated palette of warm hues, layered materials, and rich textures was selected to evoke a sense of comfort and hospitality. The resulting interior balances functionality with atmosphere, offering guests a welcoming environment that celebrates the social and cultural essence of Middle Eastern dining.
